Confrontation helps

The negative feelings are never going away. You wake up in the morning and decide – “Today is going to be a good day!” or “Today is mine to grab!” – and thinks start spiraling out of control from the moment you step in to the sun. Negative feelings chase like a loyal dog on a positive day.

It happens to me a lot. I just need one bad email to overthrow me off my cruise control. And then it chases me around – like a bad dream on a bright day!

Earlier I used to run away from it. Because avoiding something can solve a problem. So we believe! But the more we run it seems to catch up pretty fast. And then you are facing twice the intensity of the negativity with one quarter of the energy. That’s not how you want to deal with such things in your life.

So, I turn around and face it. It is distasteful – believe me! But I believe that worse is that when you try to outrun something it becomes more complicated. And then when you have to face something without the energy or the gumption for it, it would sap the life out of you.

Confrontation is the key during such times and then I deal with it. I take the full measure if it. I hyperventilate and I curl myself in at times. But I go through the tornado of it. And eventually, I see light at the end of the tunnel. I know I have cleared the marsh.
