Anything but rains…

I know I know! Everyone is going to run at me with a stick to club me. But I am not really a rain person. Rains, where I stay, can cause real mayhem. It is less romantic and more scary and lightning and thunder is going to lash right in front of my eyes.

And that is one of the reasons is why I love the sun. It burns me brown and it gives me a tan and sometimes it gives me a bad stomach day too – but at least I reach home, clean and without the slush covering my chappals and my trousers.

I was not even a winter person but of late, I love winters as well. As long as the sun bursts out of the window and grins at me, I am okay with winters too.

It is not that I abhor rain altogether. I love a standing, peaceful, dancing rain that just doesn’t decide to lash around people’s lives. A calm and peaceful rain and I am in company of it. But the best part is yet to come.

Not Petrichor – Though I love it.

Slowly, very shyly, the sun peeps through the clouds after pouring consistently for 3-4 hours. That look of warmth and serenity following rains is what I love the most. And that is why, I love rains. I am okay with certain parts of all weather conditions. Not all rains, not all summer and not all winter – parts.

Winter is all about Christmas celebrations and here, in India, they even decorate the streets and have carnivals in the week preceding Christmas and New Year. Similarly, summers have those windy and dusty days with cool winds and wet-humid air.

And the queen of it all – autumn. Silently creeps in and takes over our lives. The world is sighing its way to silence and so autumn starts shedding leaves and mildly the weather changes for better.

Now, I feel like sighing…
