Book Review – Days at Morisaki Bookshop by Satoshi Yagisawa

The book saved me. I was really curious about another favorite and publicly loved book.

And so out of curiosity, I started reading that. Now, out I knew it was popular but I didn’t know what was it popular for. Turns out – it was a smut favorite.

Back in 2025, I took an oath with myself that I will finish every book that I pick no matter what.

So, I continued with that even though I found it distasteful. But I needed something to detox that.

And then I picked Days at Morisaki Bookshop – a refreshing change I found against the counterpart. I read that along with my project and phew! I was saved!

The book is beautifully describing Japan and it was as if I was there at the bookshop. I am not going to reveal the contents much. Though I am sure more than half the world has read it by now.

Nevertheless, it is peaceful and moves at a steady pace – not slow or not too fast. I like that the book has the Zen effect that Japan is so popular for.

If you want to read something that doesn’t have too much fancy plot but a compelling narrative, go for it.
