If you’ve ever wondered what it feels like inside a writer’s head, imagine a place where stories, conversations, half-finished scenes, and stray thoughts are constantly colliding with one another—some loud, some quiet, all waiting to become something more.
My favourite place to escape to has always been my own imagination. It is a world built from words, characters, and possibilities; a cozy little corner where ordinary moments become stories and stories become companions.
Yes, it may sound a little strange. But writers often live two lives—the one everyone sees and the one unfolding endlessly inside their minds. Perhaps that’s why we’re always chasing ideas, losing sleep over fictional people, and carrying entire worlds with us wherever we go.

Welcome to The Dusty Bookshelf.
I’m A. R. Menon, and I created this space to share a piece of that world with you.
My writing journey began as a child with a poem about honeybees—my very first attempt at putting thoughts onto paper. Since then, writing has remained a constant companion through every season of life. Over the years, I’ve grown as both a person and a storyteller, and I like to think both versions of me are still learning, exploring, and finding new stories to tell.
My next step in the journey is being a full-fledged writer, encourage more people to read and enjoy the world of imagination, and make it a community thing. I have written novels/novellas and so here’s hoping that I reach where I want to be.
Thank you for stopping by, for reading, and for allowing my words a small place on your bookshelf.
I hope you find a story here that stays with you long after you’ve turned the last page.
